Following grammar rules in studying English grammar is not absolutely true
Consider linguistics, grammar is defined as a system of a language. Sometimes people describe grammar as a rule of a language.
This is not absolutely true because grammar doesn’t have rules.
Why? Because the word “Rule” is the thing which is named by someone firstly, then it is used popularly, it’s like a game or a competition.
Language is not like that. Language exists by the pronunciation of human (make sounds to fellow human), then connect sounds becoming words, phrases, sentences.
On the other hand, language exists when humans don’t have rules to speak. Language is not fixed and always change with time. What we call grammar, actually it’s just a reflection of a language in a particular historical moment.
Do we need to study grammar to communicate in English?
The answer is No!
Many people who go abroad for studying, work can use English to communicate for a long time without knowing grammar. Children have the ability to speak, communicate, even before they can pronounce the word “Grammar”.
But on the other side, if you want to study English logically, I’m gonna tell you that “Grammar will help you study English much faster and more effectively”.
The important thing is we consider grammar as a useful thing which can help us, consider grammar as a fellow efficient friend. Once you’ve got grammar (or understand the system of language), you can easily learn more many things without going to a training English center or an English chat room.
